Sky is reportedly finalising plans to launch its NOW TV on demand service in Spain in September as a test bed for its expansion into other European countries.
The service is currently available in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria and Italy.
Sky plans to offer the pay-TV service with TV series and films, among other content for a monthly fee of €10 in direct competition with Spanish OTT platforms including Movistar Plus, Vodafone and Orange.
Sky will be joined in the venture by 21st Century Fox, who operates several channels in Spain with a wide variety of content, including blockbuster TV series The Walking Dead. Recently, Fox launched its VoD app FoxPlay in Spain, with content available on Vodafone and Telecable.
